FabCon 2027, the Microsoft Fabric Community Conference, runs March 8-12, 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Registration is open, the pricing ladder is published, and the track list is live. The biggest change this year: the event is now officially branded FABCON & SQLCON, with the SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB community folded into the same week. One registration gets you both.

This guide covers what FabCon is, the confirmed dates and venue, every pass and what it costs, the full five-day schedule, the track list across both conferences, hotels and how to get in from the airport, who should actually attend, and how the Power BI and Fabric work you do all year ends up in the decks your stakeholders read. If you attended last year, our FabCon 2026 guide is still up for comparison.

TL;DR

  • FabCon 2027 runs March 8-12, 2027 at the Georgia World Congress Center (Building C) in Atlanta, Georgia. Monday and Tuesday are workshop days; Wednesday through Friday is the main conference.
  • It is now FABCON & SQLCON. SQLCON is bundled in at no extra cost, adding a nine-track SQL, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB program alongside FabCon's eighteen tracks. You can mix and match sessions across both.
  • Pricing is live and currently discounted: Diamond (5-day) $2,995, Platinum (4-day) $2,345, Gold (3-day conference) $1,725, Workshops Only $1,395. Group codes save 10% to 20%.
  • The keynote is at State Farm Arena on Wednesday morning, and the attendee celebration is at the Georgia Aquarium on Thursday night. Speaker names are not out yet.
  • 17 partner hotels are in the block, from $189 to $339 a night, several with a conference shuttle to the venue.
  • For Power BI and Fabric teams whose dashboards need to land in board decks, ops reviews, QBRs, and client reports, Rollstack automates that delivery layer, connecting Power BI to PowerPoint, Google Slides, Word, and Google Docs that refresh on schedule.

FabCon 2027: The Basics

  • Dates: March 8-12, 2027 (Monday through Friday)
  • Workshop days: Monday, March 8 and Tuesday, March 9
  • Conference days: Wednesday, March 10 through Friday, March 12
  • Main venue: Georgia World Congress Center, Building C, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313
  • Keynote venue: State Farm Arena
  • Attendee celebration: Georgia Aquarium
  • Official name: FABCON & SQLCON (Microsoft Fabric Community Conference)
  • Registration: Open now at fabriccon.com/tickets
  • Pricing: $1,395 to $2,995 depending on pass, currently discounted off full price
  • Scale: 200+ sessions across 18 FabCon tracks and 9 SQLCON tracks, plus full-day workshops
  • Format: In person
  • Best for: Power BI developers, data analysts, analytics and data engineers, BI leaders, Fabric admins, DBAs, and BI-adjacent decision-makers

All three venues sit in the same downtown cluster, so you are not commuting between them. State Farm Arena and the Georgia Aquarium are both a short walk from the Congress Center.

What is Microsoft Fabric (and Power BI)?

Microsoft Fabric is Microsoft's unified analytics platform. It brings data integration, data engineering, data warehousing, data science, Real-Time Intelligence, and business intelligence into one software-as-a-service environment built around OneLake, a single logical data lake for the whole organization. Instead of stitching together separate tools for ingestion, transformation, storage, and reporting, Fabric puts them on one foundation.

Power BI is the business intelligence and visualization layer of that platform, and for most attendees it is the entry point. Analysts and developers use Power BI to model data with DAX, build semantic models, and publish interactive reports. With Fabric, Power BI reads from OneLake through Direct Lake mode, which gives import-mode performance over large datasets without the refresh latency, and Copilot adds AI assistance for authoring and analysis.

The platform has real scale behind it now. Microsoft cites 28,000+ organizations using Fabric and adoption across 80% of the Fortune 500, including EY, Bridgestone, and Epic. A Forrester study the FabCon team cites puts Fabric at 379% ROI over three years with payback starting inside six months. Those are vendor-sourced numbers, so treat them as directional, but they are the numbers your finance team will see if they go looking.

For teams running on Fabric and Power BI, the platform solves the hard part: getting data clean, governed, and queryable. But most executives, clients, and operators never open a Power BI report. They read board decks, operating reviews, QBRs, and recurring reports. That is the gap Rollstack closes. It sits downstream of OneLake and the semantic model and turns governed Power BI dashboards into refreshed presentations and documents.

What is FabCon (and what is SQLCON)?

FabCon, short for the Microsoft Fabric Community Conference, is the largest global community-led event for the Microsoft data ecosystem. It covers the full Fabric suite, but it remains the home of the Power BI community and the successor to the standalone Power BI and Microsoft Business Applications summits.

The 2027 change worth understanding is the merge. The event is now branded FABCON & SQLCON, and the official framing is "the full Microsoft data ecosystem" rather than Fabric alone. SQLCON brings the relational database world into the same building: SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, migrations, performance tuning, and DBA practice. Your registration covers both conferences, and the organizers explicitly encourage mixing SQLCON sessions with FabCon workshops.

This matters practically. If your team has a Power BI side and a SQL Server side that historically sent people to different events, or nobody at all, 2027 is the year one trip covers both. It also means the hallway conversations are broader than in past years, which is useful if you sit between the database layer and the reporting layer.

The format is keynotes from Microsoft product leadership, hundreds of community-led breakouts, full-day pre-conference workshops, hands-on labs, an expo hall, and community traditions like the DataViz Championship. Note that the previous US edition sold out, so the "register later" plan carries some risk.

Who should attend FabCon 2027?

  • Power BI developers and report builders who want deeper command of DAX, semantic models, Direct Lake, and enterprise deployment patterns like TMDL, PBIP, and source control.
  • Data analysts who live in Power BI and want to keep pace with Copilot, AI-assisted analysis, and self-service capabilities.
  • Analytics and data engineers working upstream in Fabric pipelines, warehousing, and Real-Time Intelligence.
  • BI and analytics leaders benchmarking team structure, governance, and platform strategy against other Microsoft-stack organizations.
  • Fabric admins and governance owners managing capacities, tenant settings, security, and CI/CD.
  • DBAs and database developers who are new to this event. With SQLCON bundled in, there are now nine tracks aimed directly at you, covering Azure SQL performance, migrations, modernization, and tooling.
  • Business decision-makers and business analysts who care about adoption, ROI, and strategy more than code.
  • Partners and ecosystem vendors building on or selling into the Microsoft data stack.

If you are brand new to the platform, the event is still worth it, but spend your budget on the workshop days rather than trying to follow deep architecture talks.

FabCon 2027 schedule and agenda

The five-day shape is published. Here is how the week runs:

Monday, March 8 and Tuesday, March 9: workshop days. Both days follow the same rhythm: registration and badge pickup, morning refreshments, then all-day workshops with lunch breaks. These are the full-day, hands-on pre-conference sessions, and they are the reason the Diamond and Platinum passes cost more than Gold.

Tuesday also hosts two free Microsoft events running alongside the workshops: MVP Day for current Microsoft MVPs, and Partner Day for Microsoft Partners who meet the criteria. Neither costs anything if you qualify.

Wednesday, March 10: keynote and opening. The keynote runs 8:45 to 11:45am at State Farm Arena, then three session blocks fill the afternoon. The Opening Reception in the Expo Hall is 5:25 to 7:00pm. Wednesday is the day to arrive rested; a three-hour keynote followed by three session blocks is a long start.

Thursday, March 11: the heaviest day. The DataViz Championship opens at 8:00 to 9:00am, the WIT Lunch runs 12:30 to 1:45pm, Power Hour is 5:30 to 7:00pm, and the Attendee Celebration at the Georgia Aquarium runs 8:00 to 10:00pm. Sessions fill everything in between. If you only have one evening to spend on the social program, this is the one.

Friday, March 12: closing sessions. A DEI Lunch runs 12:30 to 1:45pm, with sessions bookending it. Friday is a real program day, not a half-day of stragglers, so book your flight for the evening rather than the afternoon.

Confirm session-level timing on the official schedule once the session catalog fills in. Individual session titles and times were still being added as of August 2026.

FabCon and SQLCON 2027 tracks

Eighteen tracks on the FabCon side and nine on the SQLCON side, with three shared between them, so about two dozen distinct programs to choose from. The FabCon side:

Best for Power BI practitioners: Power BI, Data Development, Data Science in Fabric. Prioritize these if you build reports and models daily and want depth on DAX, semantic modeling, and AI-assisted authoring.

Best for platform owners and admins: Fabric Platform - Admin & Governance, Fabric Platform - Dev Experiences, Microsoft Purview, OneLake. Prioritize these if you are responsible for capacities, tenant settings, security, or CI/CD, or if governance is the thing blocking wider rollout.

Best for data engineers: Data Engineering, Data Integration, Data Warehousing, Real-Time Intelligence. Prioritize these if you own the pipelines feeding the reports and are weighing Direct Lake or streaming patterns.

Best for AI and app builders: Microsoft AI Foundry, Power Platform, Cosmos DB, Databases in Fabric. Prioritize these if you are being asked what Copilot and agentic analytics actually do in production.

Cross-cutting: Customer Stories, DEI, and SQL Server & Azure SQL, which appears on both sides.

The SQLCON side adds: SQL Server & Azure SQL, Databases in Fabric, Migrations, Modernization, Performance, Administration, SQL Tools (SSMS, VS Code extensions, PowerShell), Database Development, and Customer Stories.

The Customer Stories track is the one most people underuse. Vendor sessions tell you what a feature does; customer sessions tell you what broke when someone rolled it out at your scale. Full track detail is on the FabCon tracks page.

Speakers to watch at FabCon 2027

FabCon has not announced its 2027 keynote or breakout speakers yet. We will list them here once they are official, and we will not present prior-year names as confirmed for 2027.

For context on what the lineup usually looks like: the 2026 keynote stage featured Microsoft data leadership including Arun Ulag, Kim Manis, Amir Netz, Wangui McKelvey, Nellie Gustafsson, Justyna Lucznik, Patrick LeBlanc, and Adam Saxton, alongside SQL-side names like Shireesh Thota, Priya Sathy, Erin Stellato, Bob Ward, and Anna Hoffman. Several of them are recurring fixtures, but none of that is confirmed for 2027.

The practical advice does not depend on the lineup. Keynotes get written up online within days of the event. The sessions worth planning around are the community and customer breakouts where someone running an environment your size walks through what they actually changed. That content never gets a recap post.

Training, workshops, and hands-on sessions

The two workshop days on March 8 and 9 are the deepest training on offer, and they are gated by pass type. Diamond includes both days, Platinum includes one, Gold includes none, and the Workshops Only pass covers the two workshop days without the main conference.

Two things to plan around. First, the pass you buy determines your workshop access, so decide before you register rather than trying to add days later. Second, hands-on formats historically fill first, so claim your workshop seats during registration. Bring a laptop; these are working sessions, not lectures.

If you are sending several people, a useful split is one person on Diamond for the deep workshop content and the rest on Gold for the main conference, then have the workshop attendee run an internal session when you are back. That gets you the training without paying the workshop premium several times over.

Specific workshop titles for 2027 were still being published as of August 2026. Check the official schedule for the current list.

Expo hall, sponsors, and community events

The expo hall opens with the Wednesday evening reception (5:25 to 7:00pm) and is more useful than the average conference floor, because the Microsoft data partner ecosystem shows up in force and Microsoft engineers staff the expert booths. Bring your hardest DAX, modeling, or capacity-planning problem and get it answered by someone who works on the product.

The community program is a genuine draw. The DataViz Championship kicks off Thursday at 8:00am, Power Hour runs Thursday evening, and the Attendee Celebration takes over the Georgia Aquarium Thursday 8:00 to 10:00pm. The WIT and DEI lunches on Thursday and Friday are also worth the calendar hold if that programming matters to you.

The 2027 sponsor list was still filling in as of August 2026. One pattern worth noticing as you walk the floor: most vendors there are solving the upstream problem of getting data modeled, governed, and queryable. The downstream problem, turning governed Power BI dashboards into the recurring decks and documents your stakeholders read, is the one most teams still handle by hand. More on that below.

Is FabCon 2027 worth it?

For anyone whose work runs through Power BI or Microsoft Fabric, usually yes, and the SQLCON merge makes the math better than in past years because one trip now covers two ecosystems.

FabCon 2027 is most worth it if you are:

  • Standardizing or scaling Power BI and Fabric across multiple teams or a large tenant
  • Adopting OneLake, Direct Lake, or Real-Time Intelligence and want patterns from teams who already did it
  • Building governance, security, and CI/CD practices for Power BI and Fabric
  • Running SQL Server or Azure SQL alongside Fabric and want both covered in one week
  • Working out where Copilot and agentic analytics actually fit, past the demo

Be honest about the cases where it is weaker. If your team is brand new to the platform, the main conference will move faster than you can absorb, and a Workshops Only pass at $1,395 plus a hotel is a better first year than a full Diamond pass. If you only care about product announcements, those get published online for free within days of the keynote. And if your reporting problem is downstream of the dashboard rather than in it, a conference will diagnose that clearly but will not fix it.

Total cost of attending, realistically: a Gold pass at $1,725, four nights at $189 to $339, plus flights. Budget $2,800 to $3,800 per person for the standard conference, more if you add workshop days.

FabCon 2027 pricing and registration

Registration is open. All four passes are currently discounted off full price:

  • Diamond, $2,995 (down from $3,395). Five days: both workshop days, all three conference days, expo, keynote, and meals.
  • Platinum, $2,345 (down from $2,745). Four days: one workshop day, all three conference days, expo, keynote, and meals.
  • Gold, $1,725 (down from $2,045). Three days: the full main conference, expo, keynote, and meals. No workshop days.
  • Workshops Only, $1,395 (down from $1,595). Both workshop days and meals, without the main conference.

Free options if you qualify: MVP Day on Tuesday is free for current Microsoft MVPs, and Partner Day on Tuesday is free for Microsoft Partners meeting the stated criteria. Neither is a full conference pass, but both are worth knowing about.

One important caveat on the discount: FabCon does not publish an end date for the current pricing. The site shows full price alongside current price and advises registering early for the discount, but no cutover date appears on the tickets page or in the registration flow. Treat the discount as live-until-it-is-not, and register earlier than feels necessary. Prices verified against the official tickets page on August 11, 2026; confirm the live tier before you book.

FabCon 2027 promo code or discount code

There is no public single-attendee promo code for FabCon 2027 as of August 11, 2026. What does exist, and is officially published, are group registration codes:

  • GROUP3-6 saves 10% when registering 3 to 6 people
  • GROUP7-9 saves 15% when registering 7 to 9 people
  • GROUP10+ saves 20% when registering 10 or more

These stack on top of the current discounted pricing, so a team of ten on Gold passes pays roughly $1,380 each instead of the $2,045 full price. If you are close to a threshold, the math usually favors adding one more person: going from six to seven attendees moves you from 10% to 15% off every ticket.

Individual community or partner codes have appeared in past years. If an official one publishes for 2027, we will add it here. We will not invent one in the meantime.

Hotels and travel for FabCon 2027

The room block covers 17 partner hotels ranging from $189 to $339 a night, and several include a conference shuttle to the Congress Center. A sample across the range:

  • Courtland Grand Hotel at $189, the cheapest in the block, with conference shuttle
  • AC Hotel Atlanta Downtown at $249, Hyatt Place Centennial Park at $279, Springhill Suites at $281
  • Hilton Atlanta, W Atlanta Downtown, and Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Downtown all at $289
  • The Westin Peachtree Plaza and Atlanta Marriott Marquis at $309
  • Signia by Hilton GWCC at $319, connected to the Congress Center
  • Omni Atlanta at Centennial Park at $329 and Ritz Carlton Atlanta at $339

The full list with booking links is on the official venue and hotels page, and more hotels were still being added as of August 2026.

Which to pick. Signia by Hilton is physically connected to the Congress Center, which is worth the premium for a five-day event where you will want to drop your bag between sessions. The Centennial Park cluster puts you within walking distance of the venue, State Farm Arena, and the Georgia Aquarium, so all three event locations are on foot. The $189 to $249 options generally trade walking distance for price, which is fine if you are happy using the shuttle.

Getting in from the airport. Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) connects to downtown by MARTA, and it is genuinely the fastest option during rush hour. Take the Red or Gold line from Airport Station to Five Points, roughly 17 minutes with trains about every 10 minutes, then transfer to a westbound Blue or Green line train; GWCC/CNN Center is the next stop. Door to door is about 25 to 30 minutes for a few dollars. A rideshare is 20 minutes off-peak and considerably worse at rush hour, when I-85 through downtown backs up badly.

Book early. No booking deadline is published for the block yet, but the previous US edition of this event sold out, and March is active convention season in Atlanta. The connected and walkable hotels go first.

Practical tips for FabCon attendees

  • Register before the discount lapses. With no published end date, the current pricing could change without notice. This is the rare case where "book it now" is literal advice rather than urgency theater.
  • Pick your pass around workshop days, not conference days. The difference between Gold, Platinum, and Diamond is entirely workshop access. Decide how much hands-on time you want before you buy.
  • Plan Thursday deliberately. DataViz Championship at 8:00am, sessions all day, Power Hour at 5:30pm, then the aquarium until 10:00pm. It is a fourteen-hour day if you do all of it. Pick your two.
  • Do not book a Friday afternoon flight. Friday runs a full session program through the afternoon with a DEI lunch in the middle. An evening departure gets you the whole day.
  • Use the SQLCON side even if you are a Power BI person. The performance and migration tracks explain why your reports are slow in ways the Power BI tracks assume you already know.
  • Bring your laptop for the workshops. They are hands-on and you need your own machine.
  • Spend real time at the expert booths. Bringing a specific, hard, reproducible problem to a Microsoft engineer is the single highest-value hour of the week.
  • Comfortable shoes and a layer. The Congress Center is enormous, you will walk between three venues, and session rooms are aggressively air-conditioned.
  • Take notes by problem, not by session. Future-you wants one synthesis page tied to the problems you came to solve, not twelve sets of session notes.

FabCon dress code

Tech-casual. The unofficial uniform is jeans, a polo or t-shirt, comfortable sneakers, and a backpack, and you will see plenty of Microsoft community swag. Evening and partner events run slightly dressier but standard conference attire works everywhere, including the aquarium celebration. Atlanta in early March is mild but genuinely variable, roughly 40 to 65°F, so pack a jacket you can carry.

Where Rollstack fits for Power BI and Fabric teams

Microsoft Fabric and Power BI give teams a governed, queryable data platform. The dashboards are good and the semantic models are trustworthy. But the work does not stop there. Most teams still turn Power BI dashboards into board decks, executive summaries, QBRs, operating reviews, investor updates, and client reports, and that part is usually still manual: screenshots, copy-paste, and reformatting, every reporting cycle.

That is where Rollstack fits. Rollstack connects directly to Power BI and pushes live, governed data into PowerPoint, Google Slides, Word, and Google Docs, then refreshes those outputs on a schedule and distributes them automatically. One template can produce many personalized versions in a single run, so a client scorecard or regional report becomes fifty without fifty hours of work.

The common objection is fair: Power BI already exports to PowerPoint. Static exports exist. They do not refresh, do not schedule, do not distribute, and do not scale to dozens of personalized decks. Rollstack automates the full cycle. For a concrete example, SoFi's finance team compressed its review-cycle slide prep from 6 hours to 45 minutes doing exactly this. Rollstack is used by teams at companies including T. Rowe Price, TripAdvisor, Vanta, and SoFi, and it holds the #1 spot for Quality of Support on G2.

If you are at FabCon thinking about the gap between your Fabric-built data and the slides your stakeholders read, the report generation in the modern data stack framing covers how this fits, how to automate Power BI reports covers the mechanics, and the best automated reporting tools overview puts it in context.

Your Power BI models are accurate. Your slides shouldn't be the bottleneck. Rollstack connects Power BI to PowerPoint and Google Slides, refreshes the recurring decks on schedule, and delivers them to stakeholders automatically. See it in action.

Livestream, virtual access, and on-demand sessions

FabCon 2027 is an in-person event, and the 2027 recording and on-demand policy has not been published yet. We will confirm it once the organizers announce the format.

For reference, FabCon has historically recorded general and keynote sessions and made them available to attendees afterward, while workshops and live-only formats such as Power Hour are not recorded. If catching product announcements is your main goal, the keynote coverage that appears online within days is usually enough. The workshops, the expert booths, and the peer conversations are the parts that do not translate to video, and they are the actual case for being there.
