How Rollstack compares, tool by tool

Each comparison below scores the tools on the same 12 criteria, in the same order. Each one also says where the other tool is the better choice, because for some decks it is.

The 12 criteria

#CriterionThe question it answersWhy it matters
1Data sourcesDoes it connect to your warehouses, BI tools, spreadsheets, CRMs, PDFs and any source with an API?Business decks pull from all of them. A tool that only reads the files you attach covers part of the deck.
2Verified numbersDoes every figure come from a query on the source, with its source, query, filters and last update one click away? Or does a model write the numbers?A model can write a number that looks right and is not. Checking is the real cost of a business deck.
3Your templateDoes it build inside your PowerPoint or Google Slides master, or in its own theme?Board and client decks have a brand and a layout people expect.
4Next cycleDoes next month's version refresh in place, on a schedule, and keep your edits?Rebuilding the same deck every month is the problem to solve.
5One version per audienceCan one template become a version for every region (North America, EMEA, LATAM, APAC), sales channel, sales team, product line, product category, client or location? Most companies ration tailored reporting because each version is built by hand.
6Personalized email deliveryDoes each stakeholder get a personalized email with their own version, on schedule?Building 300 versions is half the job. Each one still has to reach the right person, with a note written for them.
7Your permissionsDoes it follow the roles and permissions in your BI tools and warehouse, so each viewer and each version sees only the data it should?A deck built by someone with wide access can show data to people who should not see it.
8Security and auditSOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, SSO, SCIM, a log of every update, and on-premise BI over VPN?Finance, healthcare and client data need controls your security team can review.
9LLM choiceCan you choose the model provider, or bring your own?Your AI policy and model contracts should decide which model reads your data. The best model also changes every few months.
10API and MCPCan your systems and AI agents build, refresh and send decks through an API or MCP?More reporting now starts in other tools, including ChatGPT and Claude.
11Built for every teamIs it built for every team that reports on data, or for one team or one kind of content? One platform for finance, CS, operations, RevOps and marketing means one set of controls and one version of each number.
12Native outputNative, editable charts and tables in PowerPoint and Google Slides?People edit the deck after it is built.

"Yes" means the vendor's documentation shows it. "Partly" means the tool covers part of the criterion, and its comparison page says which part. "No" means it does not. Each comparison page names the exact product we checked and the date we checked it.

What is Rollstack?

Rollstack is the leading AI presentation platform for business decks built from data. It covers the one-off analysis for Monday's meeting and the reporting a company runs every cycle: the board pack, the monthly business review, the client QBR, and the quarterly review for every region, channel and product line. Rollstack connects to warehouses, BI tools, spreadsheets, CRMs, PDFs and any source with an API.

Verified pipeline or black box

Every tool on this page can put a number on a slide. The difference is whether anyone can prove where it came from.

With a general assistant, the path from your data to the slide is a black box. The model reads the files and connections you gave it, then writes the figure. OpenAI advises checking that the numbers match the source. Anthropic does not recommend Claude for PowerPoint for final client deliverables without human review.

Rollstack runs a verified pipeline. Charts, tables and figures come from deterministic queries on your sources, not from the model. Each one opens in Inspect with its source, query, filters and last update. Every change Rollstack's AI makes can be reviewed before the deck goes out.

The model writes the words. Your data supplies the numbers.

One template, every audience

Tailored reporting is not only for franchise networks. A public company runs the same quarterly review for North America, EMEA, LATAM and APAC, for each sales channel and sales team, and for each product line and product category. A marketplace reports to every partner, a healthcare network to every practice, an agency to every client. That can mean dozens or thousands of versions of one deck every cycle, each with its own numbers.

Rollstack Bursts build every version from one template, each filtered to its audience and limited to the data that audience may see. Then they refresh on schedule, and each stakeholder receives a personalized email with their own version. CarGurus delivers tailored reporting to 30K+ dealer partners. Equality Health sends a report to each of its 800+ practices, about 2,000 decks a month.

Built for your AI and data stack

Many teams now connect ChatGPT or Claude to the warehouse. Rollstack does not replace that. It is the layer that turns an answer into a deck people can trust, in your template, for every audience.

  • Your data. Warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift), BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker and more), spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets), CRMs (Salesforce CRM Analytics, or HubSpot through the Rollstack API), PDFs and documents, and any source with an API.
  • Your stakeholders. Each one receives a personalized email with their own version, on schedule.
  • Your formats. Work in the Rollstack platform, or deliver PowerPoint, Google Slides and PDF files, plus Word and Google Docs.
  • Your LLM. Use Claude Opus 5.5 or GPT 6.1 Sol, or connect your company's own Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex AI account on the Enterprise plan.
  • Your permissions. Access follows the roles and permissions in your BI tools and warehouse, so a regional lead sees their region and a client sees only their numbers.
  • Your agents. Build, refresh and send decks through the Rollstack API, or from ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants through MCP.
  • Your security review. SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, and supports HIPAA. SSO, SAML and SCIM. Every update logged. On-premise BI connected over VPN.
  • Your whole company. Finance, customer success, business operations, RevOps, marketing, agencies and consultants work from one platform, with one set of controls.

When another tool is the better fit

We would rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one twice.

  • A one-off, design-first deck with no data behind it: Gamma or Beautiful.ai.
  • General writing help inside PowerPoint or Google Slides: Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Hand-drawn consulting exhibits such as Mekko charts: think-cell.

If your deck comes from data your team already trusts, whether it is a one-off analysis or a report that repeats every week, month or quarter, read on.

How we compare

Every fact about another product comes from that vendor's public documentation or from a named third-party source, with the date we checked it. We review each page every quarter and whenever a vendor ships a major change. If something here is out of date, email compare@rollstack.com and we will fix it within 5 business days.

Test it on your own deck

Send us last month's deck. We will rebuild it from your data, then refresh it live in front of you.
