Verdict
Rollstack enables teams across functions to analyze the data they need from any data source, build decks in branded templates, and deliver tailored versions, whether to one recipient or thousands at a time.
Matik works for sales teams generating decks from CRMs like Salesforce. Rollstack covers those sales decks and all other business reporting. Trusted by SoFi, Tripadvisor and CarGurus, Rollstack leads on 6 of the 12 comparison criteria below and matches Matik on the other 6.
Where Rollstack is stronger
Every trusted source.
Rollstack connects to all data sources, including warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks), BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker and more), spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets), CRMs (Salesforce CRM Analytics, or HubSpot through the Rollstack API), PDFs and documents, and any source with an API. Matik has fewer data source integrations: it connects to CRMs, warehouses, BI tools and spreadsheets, but doesn't use PDFs or documents as data sources.
Data lineage traces figures from slide to source.
Every number on a slide can be opened in Inspect with its source, query, filters and last update.
Every team on one platform.
Run all your reporting from one platform since sales and customer success can work alongside finance, operations, RevOps and marketing, from the same numbers.
Governance built-in for BI & LLMs.
Access follows your BI tools as well as your warehouse, Rollstack supports HIPAA, and you choose the model provider.
Works with the way you do.
Integrates with agentic workflows and AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude to build, refresh and send decks through the Rollstack API and MCP server. Any source with an API can feed a deck.

The comparison in depth
Where the numbers come from
For Matik, home is the CRM as decks can be built around an account record in Salesforce or HubSpot. Reps can also generate them from inside Salesforce.
Rollstack treats every trusted source as home, whether that's warehouse tables, spreadsheets, CRMs, PDFs and documents, or your BI views and visuals with the same filters your analysts certified. You don't need to rebuild metrics in a second tool, so the deck stays current with its source on every refresh.
How a deck gets built
In Matik, admins build templates and configures queries, calculations or conditions behind each dynamic element. Reps can then either generate decks by choosing the pre-defined template and an account, or by asking from Slack, their CRM or an AI assistant.
In Rollstack, the deck starts from the analysis. You can start with a prompt like: "a quarterly business review for Acme from the customer health dashboard, in our QBR template" and data agents build the deck from analysis through takeaways. If you already have a deck, you can bring it into Rollstack and map each chart to its source. Both options give you a template that your team refresh and scale delivery.
Checking the numbers
Matik's agents will flag problems and propose fixes. It also keeps a before and after of every deck it generates, but it does not show a reviewer each figure's source, filters and last update. This limits traceability.
In Rollstack, every figure on a slide can be traced back to the raw data and each transformation applied to it. Reviewers can check numbers without rebuilding anything.

When Rollstack's AI makes changes, you can review it before the deck gets sent out: here, you can see the original and the edited slide side by side, with all changes highlighted.

Scale
Either option can produce tailored variants of a deck for every account, region or product line; the difference is what happens after, in the reporting workflow.
Rollstack keeps every version live, so new data and template changes reach all of them in place and the edits people made stay. For example, if you're running a quarterly review for North America, EMEA, LATAM and APAC and for every product line from one template, any change to that template reaches every existing version on the next run.
In contrast, Matik generates a new set of files from the template each time.
Rollstack customers already run their reporting this way:
- Equality Health changes one master template and updates the monthly review for all 800+ of its practices.
- The Orchard's five analysts deliver more than 6,500 tailored reports a quarter to 10K+ clients and labels.
- CarGurus gives its account managers tailored reporting for 30K+ dealer partners.
Permissions, security and your LLM
Matik is SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, supports SSO and SCIM, and uses your existing permissions in connected sources such as Salesforce and Snowflake.
Rollstack matches these, and goes further than Matik in three places that matter to regulated and data-heavy teams:
- Follows the roles and permissions in your BI tools as well as your warehouse, including row-level security, so a regional lead's version contains only that region's data.
- Supports HIPAA and connects to on-premise BI over VPN.
- Enables your choice of LLM model, whether that's Claude Opus 5.5, GPT 6.1 Sol, or your own Azure AI Foundry, or something else. And, our model providers don't train on your data.
Where the differences show up: QBRs for 300 customers
Here's a pretty common scenario: your CS Ops team owns QBRs for more than 300 customers. Data on usage and adoption are in a Tableau dashboard, support data in a Snowflake table, and renewal dates from Salesforce are synced into Snowflake.
With Matik, an admin configures the QBR template and sets up the query behind each chart, connected to Salesforce and Snowflake. Account managers generate their respective customers' decks, or the admin can also run a bulk generation for all customers. Next quarter, you generate a new set from the template, straightforward but not fully automated.
With Rollstack, you start directly from the Tableau dashboard your team already uses for customer health and bring in your existing QBR template. Once you add an account filter, Rollstack builds 300 decks on the schedule you set, each with that customer's numbers. Account managers add their own edits. Next quarter, those same 300 decks refresh in place, any edits account managers made are still there, retaining that personalized feel.
Who should pick which
Choose Rollstack if
- Your numbers live in diverse data sources that span warehouses, BI dashboards, spreadsheets or PDFs, and you want the deck to show the views your team already trusts.
- You want to run your reporting from one platform, across sales, customer success, finance and ops. Rollstack can handle QBRs, board packs, business reviews, client reporting and one-off analysis.
- Leaders ask new questions every week, and you want AI to turn each one into a ready deck from your own data the same day, not a ticket to the data team.
- You need many versions that stay current and enable self-serve analytics for leadership, no ticket to the data team required. Rollstack's slide stay connected to live data, all template changes reach every version in place, and people's edits persist through refreshes.
- You want to be confident when presenting numbers to the CFO or clients. Rollstack makes it possible to trace to every source all AI changes are gated by human approval before anything gets sent out.
- Your security team has to sign off on reporting tooling: Rollstack's access follows your BI tools' permissions, HIPAA is supported, and you can choose the LLM.
- Your team wants to work agentically: Rollstack is integrated with AI assistants through an open API and MCP server.
Matik may be a fit if
- Your reps generate decks inside Salesforce.
- Your sales process runs on Salesloft cadences or Highspot.
- You want admins to configure every template and query centrally, with reps working inside those guardrails.
Common questions
Does Rollstack work with our Salesforce data?
Yes. Most teams use Salesforce data through the Tableau, Looker or Snowflake views that already read their CRM, so each deck combines CRM fields with usage, support and finance numbers for the same account. Teams on Salesforce CRM Analytics can also connect those dashboards directly.
Does Rollstack have an MCP server like Matik?
Yes. ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants can build, refresh and send Rollstack decks through MCP, and your own systems can do the same through the API.
Can Rollstack build sales decks?
Yes. Sales and account teams use Rollstack for account reviews, QBRs and renewal decks built from CRM, usage and BI data, and Bursts create a tailored version for every account, on schedule.
Can we move our Matik templates to Rollstack?
Yes. Matik templates are PowerPoint or Google Slides files. Open the file in Rollstack as a template, and your layout and branding carry over; you map each chart, table and number to its source.
Does Rollstack store our data?
Your source data stays in your warehouse, BI tools and files. Rollstack reads only what your slides need, with read-only access. Decks are built and stored in Rollstack, encrypted, and you can export them to PowerPoint, Google Slides or PDF at any time. See the security page for details.
Can Rollstack send each stakeholder their own version?
Yes. Bursts create one version per region, sales channel, team, product line or client, each filtered to that stakeholder's data and refreshed on schedule.
