Tableau Conference 2026

Let’s see a show of hands. Who’s been to the Tableau Conference before? It’s one of the largest events in data visualization, period. Every year, it brings together Tableau users — aka the “DataFam” — for a week of learning, sharing, and reconnecting. This article covers what to expect at Tableau Conference 2026, plus helpful tips, pricing details, and how to make the most of it.

See you all in San Diego, May 5 to May 7.

What is Tableau?

Tableau is a leading data visualization platform used across industries for turning raw data into charts, dashboards, and interactive reports. Its ease of use and ability to connect to dozens of data sources have made it the tool of choice for analysts and business teams alike.

Tableau’s community is huge, and so is its ecosystem. Tools like Rollstack are designed to help you get even more value out of it. Rollstack connects Tableau directly to PowerPoint and Google Slides so you can automate recurring reports without ever taking another screenshot. If you're in analytics, ops, or consulting, it's a timesaver.

Most recently Tableau launched a slack community, another great resource for DataFam to learn and connect.

What is the Tableau Conference?

The Tableau Conference is the annual gathering of Tableau users, developers, and data leaders from around the world. It’s the best place to hear product updates, get training, ask questions, and connect with people who do what you do.

Expect hands-on workshops, technical sessions, keynotes, and plenty of social events. There's also Iron Viz, the iconic live visualization showdown. And yes, there's always swag — don’t forget to hit the Tableau Store.

Where is the Tableau Conference?

Tableau Conference 2026 is happening at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC), home to Comic-Con. It’s downtown, right on the water, across from Petco Park and steps from the Gaslamp Quarter. The venue is massive and walkable from dozens of hotels.

Getting there is easy. The airport’s about 20 minutes away, and ride shares are everywhere.

The SDCC can accommodate over 10,000 attendees and features an outdoor promenade, big session halls, and a huge dining atrium. The atmosphere is professional, but it never feels too stiff — it’s more like a university reunion for people who love charts.

Schedule of Tableau Conference 2026

The main event takes place:

  • Tuesday, May 5 to Thursday, May 7, 2026

Here’s a general idea of what the week will look like:

  • Monday, May 4: Early check-in. Potential pre-conference training and certifications.
  • Tuesday to Thursday: Sessions, keynotes, Iron Viz, and community events.
  • Every morning: Free breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m.
  • Day sessions: Run from around 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The official app will be released closer to the event, and the detailed schedule will drop about a month before.

Tableau Conference Price

2026 pricing hasn’t been officially released, but here’s what it looked like for Tableau Conference 2025:

  • $1,499 early bird
  • $1,799 standard

Interestingly 2024 prices were higher than in 2025.

You can expect similar pricing this year, along with early bird discounts and promo codes.

Want to save? We’ll share our own Rollstack discount code when registration opens.

Tableau Conference Promo Code

In 2025, Rollstack offered a $500 discount with code TC25DSND525. We’ll do something similar this year. Be sure to join our list so we can send the promo your way before early bird pricing ends.

Hotels at the Tableau Conference

The main hotels fill up fast. Consider:

  • Hilton Bayfront
  • Marriott Marquis
  • Manchester Grand Hyatt

If you’re on a budget, check out nearby hotels in Little Italy or East Village. Airbnb is another option. The venue is easy to reach from almost anywhere downtown.

Book early. Even the affordable spots get snapped up quickly.

Tableau Conference Tips

  • Register early. Prices go up, and rooms get booked. Don’t wait.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Expect to walk. A lot. Think 16,000 to 22,000 steps a day. If you're tracking, join the Tableau Step Tracker and see how you stack up.
  • Bring sunglasses and a hat. The outdoor terrace is a hidden gem — great for meals, email catch-up, or impromptu meetings. The San Diego sun hits hard, especially if you're used to gloomier climates.
  • Plan your sessions by location. The San Diego Convention Center is massive. Choosing sessions near each other can save your legs and your seat — they will give spots away if you’re late.
  • Talk to people. This is one of the most welcoming tech communities out there. Ask a question. Compliment a viz. You’ll probably leave with a new connection — or at least a solid dashboard tip.
  • Take a break. Walk the harbor, get tacos, or head to Balboa Park for a mental reset.
  • Use ride share. The airport, Coronado, and most meetups are a short Lyft or Uber away.

Tableau Conference Dress Code

Smart casual is the unofficial uniform. Think: tech polos, jeans, comfortable shoes, and a backpack. Some people go dressy, others wear shorts. The real must-haves are comfy shoes and a phone charger.

Rollstack at the Tableau Conference

Last year, Rollstack was a Groundbreaker sponsor. We met hundreds — maybe thousands — of data pros. Our live session was standing-room only. The buzz was real.

In 2026, we’re back.

Rollstack helps Tableau users build client decks, board updates, and internal QBRs without all the copying and pasting. Our integration connects Tableau directly to PowerPoint and Google Slides. You keep the look you want, and we keep it updated. Automatically.

If that sounds helpful, stop by the booth at #TC26, or if you don't want to wait, you can book a demo now.

Tableau Conference Live Streat and On Demand

Certain sessions and keynotes live stream on Salesforce+, you can also watch many of these sessions on demand, however, not all sessions are recorded, which is why we recommend attending in person.

Rollstack's session, How SoFi Automates PowerPoint Reporting with Tableau and Rollstack, was recorded, and you can watch it here or on YouTube. If watching on YouTube be sure to give it a thumbs up, and to subscribe to Rollstack's YouTube channel.
