What is the Tableau Conference?
The Tableau Conference is the must-attend annual event for data professionals from around the globe. It provides attendees with unparalleled opportunities to learn from industry leaders through a variety of sessions that cater to all levels of expertise. Where is the Tableau Conference?
In 2025, the Tableau Conference will be held in San Diego, California, at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC). The SDCC is adjacent to some of San Diego's biggest hotels, Petco Park (home of MLB's Padres), the Gas Lamp Quarter, Downtown San Diego, and historic Coronado is just across the Coronado Bridge. It's about 20 minutes from San Diego International Airport without traffic. San Diego provides the perfect backdrop for an event that celebrates data and innovation.
The San Diego Convention Center is massive, accommodating over 10,000 people, from dining, to facilities, to meeting rooms, and a beautiful outdoor promenade overlooking San Diego Bay.
Schedule of Tableau Conference 2025
The Tableau Conference 2025 is being held Tuesday, April 15th though, Thursday April 17th 2025. Note, early check-in is typically the day prior, and there will likely be Tableau Bootcamps and Tableau Certifications in the days prior or after the Tableau Conference.
For reference, In 2024 the conference was Monday through Wednesday (See an overview of Tableau Conference 2024), with badge pickup starting Sunday afternoon, and Tableau Certifications continuing on Thursday and Friday. They keynote and Iron Viz competition were held Tuesday afternoon. Various sessions began starting from 8 AM to 5 PM every day, with doors opening for complimentary Breakfast from 7 AM - 9 AM.
The actual session schedule was announced approximately one month before the Tableau Conference in 2024, and an official conference app became available one week before the event.
Of course, the above schedule is likely to change in 2025 -- this article will be updated as more info becomes available on the lead-up to the conference.

- Book early. The Tableau Conference in 2025 is anticipated to be the biggest since 2019. Ensure you have a spot and a hotel by getting the ball rolling on registration as soon as it's available.
- Wear comfy shoes. The San Diego Convention Center is huge. What's more you'll most likely do additional walking at airports and around San Diego.
- Talk to people. The #DataFam is friendly, and almost everyone is willing to have some small talk. People tend to get more animated as they describe their 'aha' moments from the many informative sessions.
- See some of San Diego. Whether it's grabbing an authentic street taco at Tacos El Gordo, visiting the historic Coronado Hotel, or simply walking along the water front, soak in that San Diego experience.
- Uber, Lyft, and local Taxis are your friends. If you don't have a pre-arranged ride from the airport to your hotel, be sure to download and set up one of the ride-sharing apps available in San Diego. Local metered Taxis are also available at the airport. These rides will also help with the quick hop of Coronado, Balboa Park, or other San Diego destinations just out of walking distance.
